Anonymous asked: Hello! I’m a BJD collector and I want to create a character who dress with mori style. I read that “mori gyaru” existed, and I want to know if you can share a few photos to know how it looks and if you can tell me in what consists this style >_< Thank you!
Sure :)

Anonymous asked: Do you have any suggestions for more elegant mori clothing? Not necessarily formal wear, but something just a little dressed up that can still be worn casually. I know it is a strange question…. I love your blog!
Hmm Pink House has some things like that for example:

You can also find some longer dresses that are suitable for mori-kei on places like modcloth:

or Ruis Collection on taobao has some great mori-gyaru style colthing that is quite elegant.

Also coconuts on taobao does nice mori-gyaru stuff too

I hope this is what you were looking for ^^;; xo

It's there any possible way to mix mori and steampunk? Somehow this styles seem like opposites, but yet a very uncommon and interesting blend
My answer:I have never seen this done personally and I don’t know a lot about steampunk… ^^;;;
I imagine if you wanted to do it, you could focus on using leather in your outfit since it’s a material that’s OK in both styles. Also maybe making a cute flower crown that included some flowers made from brass or something? I guess if someone said to me - imagine mori-steampunk, I would think of a clockwork forest haha. Though the ideas behind each of the styles seem somewhat in contrast, I think the aesthetics could work together if you were careful ^^;;;
I imagine something like this would go well in such an outfit:

Two questions, one suggestion: 1) I apologize in advance if this was already asked. Are there any examples of what to wear with long skirts? 2) What is your opinion on Wonder Rocket? 3) I think tagging posts with 'dresses'/'short skirts'/'sweaters'/etc would be helpful
My answer:#3 first - I have actually been meaning to go through the blog and do some mass-tagging of posts so everything is more organized, I just have to find the time ^^;;;
#2 - I love wonder rocket! I think they are great and the quality is reasonable :)
#1 - You can wear almost anything with a long skirt. Here are some examples:

I'm trying to start a mori wardrobe, what do you think would be a good starting point? (I.E, x shirts, x skirts/bottoms, x outerwear...) Sorry if this is a stupid question!
My answer:I would say decide on the colour palette you want first (say you want all creams and beige or you like green a lot etc.) Once you’ve chosen your focus colour, I would work on getting the basic components of a couple of outfits and choose things that can be layered, mixed and matched and used in multiple ways.
Ideally, I think you should aim to start with:
3 x dresses, 2 x skirts, 3 x blouses, 2 x t-shirts or tops, at least 2 x outwear + a coat if where you live is cold, 2 x shoes and 1 x bag. You should also try to get a lot of different socks and leg-wear plus an assortment of accessories :) Also, if you want to go for a more boy-ish look, you can swap out the skirts and dresses for more tops, a pair of shorts and some pants.

Are short skirts or dresses ok in mori girls? Except for mori gyaru, it seems that mori girls only wear long skirts or mid-length dresses!
My answer:Traditionally, mori-girl skirts are knee-length or longer. Because the aesthetic relies heavily on layering and creating a loose silhouette it’s hard to achieve without a longer skirt. Mori-girl is also a very modest style, so showing a lot of skin or leg doesn’t really fit in with it. That said, it can be done if you do it carefully.
Here’s some examples of a mori-kei look with a short skirt (you will not find photos of mori girls in short skirts without some kind of stockings or pants underneath though).
